Brian Moore is the Chief Constable of Wiltshire Constabulary. Mr Long joined Leicestershire Constabulary in 1978, and rose to the rank of Chief Inspector, serving in a variety of operational posts, mainly in Leicester City.In 1990 he transferred on promotion to the rank of Superintendent in the Suffolk Constabulary, where he was appointed to Sub Divisional Commander at Bury St Edmunds before moving to Headquarters as part of the newly formed Inspectorate Department. In 1994 he attended the Strategic Command Course following secondments with the Metropolitan Police and London Underground Ltd, where he was part of a quality service project team. In February 1995 he took up the post of Area Commander of the Eastern Area of the Suffolk Constabulary. In August 1999 he took over as Head of Operations Department.In January 2000 he joined Wiltshire Constabulary as Assistant Chief Constable Operations and in July 2003 has been appointed as Deputy Chief Constable.Mr Long is married with a daughter and son. His leisure activities include fitness training, walking and sports.
